ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to establish how the Ugandan female police officers cope in a predominantly male institution as well as to identify problems faced by the female police officers in as far as discrimination is concerned and whether the law address them adequately. The study was carried out at the police headquarters in Kampala. The study established that sex discrimination was rampant in the police force as revealed by the interviews respondents and was not being reported to the administration because of the way these reports were handled by administrators. The majority of whom were male. However sex administration although there were no mechanisms for reporting it. The study re commended that the law be reformed to recommend awareness campaigns as well as lobbying world advance. The members of police women should be increased to boost their confidence. Effective reporting mechanisms be established by way of suggestion boxes, effective punishments be put in place and victims should be removed from harassers, as well as have these perpetuators named.
